Sitting President Joe Biden shocked Americans today after announcing plans to run against Donald Trump in 2020.
‘I’ve got a good feeling about this,’ Biden told a bewildered press conference outside the White House.
‘Donald Trump doesn’t know his time has come – we’re going to take this country back.’
CNN reporter Joe Chung took the opportunity to quiz Biden on what year it was. He was met with a blank stare before White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre interjected and said they would need to check and circle back.
Despite attempts to wrestle the mic away, Biden was able to reel off a few policy ideas. These included combating the Covid-19 virus through a national test and trace programme and raising the minimum wage.
‘We going to stick it to Putin too. That guy’s not getting any more of Ukraine’, a defiant Biden shouted as he was dragged off stage.
Rather than seizing on the gaffe to score points for his 2024 bid, Donald Trump welcomed the opportunity to re-open conversations regarding his voter fraud delusions.
‘Sleepy Joe’s finally woken up to stealing the election,’ Trump responded from his Mar A Lago residence.
‘He knows he cheated, and now he’s said it, we’re going to re-do the election. It’s officially going to be the best redo of all time.’
With both men fixated on 2020, The National Council on Ageing has suggested running a mock campaign to placate them.
‘It’s the only way to calm them down and put their minds and ease,’ spokesperson Oscar Erikson said.
‘While it might seem like a lot of work, a make believe election is going to be a lot less stressful than four more years of either of these two.’
